Born
in 1968, Ian grew up in Western Connecticut with Seven-teen
entertaining and musical brothers and sisters. Friday night family
talent shows and outrageous dinnertime jam sessions, where people
were encouraged to play instruments such as: “fork-boing,”
“salt shaker,” or “nose” gave Ian a lighthearted
approach to music.
James Taylor and Jackson
Browne, among many “Singer/Songwriters” influenced Ian’s
musical taste. Though Ian joined the Navy to pay for College, He
found true adventure spending five years as a Naval Aviator, patrolling the world’s oceans by plane; traveling around
the world, carrying a guitar wherever a guitar would go.
He
left the Navy, after the Gulf War, and drove a beat up Jeep around
the United States, looking for a little peace and adventure.
Somewhere just outside of the Grand Canyon, the songwriter found his
voice. Ian took his new
songs back to Connecticut and began to record the first of two
albums. His original work is introspective; stories of survival in
the human condition. Depth and humor make these albums an easy
listen. Ian’s music has been getting acclaim throughout the
Northeast. Both of his albums have enjoyed regular radio play at FM
radio stations in Connecticut, and his song, “Litchfield Hills
Road Race” (a fun song written after finishing ‘said race’) is
endlessly played and sang at this wild and huge road race. Through
CD sales and a mailing list, Ian’s live shows have grown from
"that guy in the corner" to original concerts and mini
tours. Ian has gone into the studio (with some "Heavy
hitters") to record his eagerly anticipated third album. He
regularly performs live throughout the Northeast.
